How To Make Magick Work

How To Make Magick Work
"Seek, and Thee shall find - but first man, know thyself."This is the first adage of magic, and is a phrase that only those who have attained the realization of adept-hood will understand to its fullest.Knowing yourself is the key to psychic power. All the rituals and spells in the world will never work without psychic power being present in the mind of the practitioner. This is one of the most unspoken rules in the whole of occultism. This is due to the fact that there are more charlatans around than authentic Mages, and also that the commercialization of Occult Literature has become a rather large business enterprise, and therefore the information published is always only focused on the ritual dogmas and ceremonial methods as the way to manifest magical results. This is indeed as far from the truth as it possibly can be. I noticed this point in Thailand too with the Thai Temple Tattooing tradition of Sak Yant sacred geometry. Because of the recent increase in popularity with sak yant tattooing, there are amass ofnew Ajarn (masters) appearing, who seem completely adept in the incantations and ceremonial ritual, but it is very doubt-able that all of these masters have attained Psychic abilities through their practice. In fact, some masters just know how to recite the formulas and mantras as well as make wonderfully intricate and technically impressive tattoos, but have not practiced the renunciations and meditative skills necessary to empower the objects of their spells with. This is precisely the same in Western Occultism, and is the cause of much disappointment when people study and attempt to make magick using books with rituals in. They will not work because the visualisation skills of the practitioner have not been developed properly yet. These techniques and skills will never come out of a book, and need to be learned in the presence of an Adept Master; There is no other way to apprenticeship, and the inner sanctum of knowledge is only revealed through the passing on of the lineage from one adept to his students.Knowing yourself is the key to power, and knowing yourself requires mindful introspection using the right criteria to observe the mind with. The white magician will have to master mindful observance of the emotional planes of consciousness too, in order to develop morality in their practice. One good way to develop the psychic faculties is to practice kasina meditation and the four sathipatanas, as expounded in Budddhism.
